Concrete Gravel Boards
Concrete gravel boards are heavy, steel-reinforced precast concrete panels used at the base of garden fences to prevent timber rot, level uneven ground, and act as a low-level retaining barrier. Standard sizes are usually 6 feet (1830 mm) long with heights of 6 inches (150 mm) or 12 inches (300 mm).
Description
- Material: Wet-cast concrete reinforced with internal steel bars or mesh for extra tensile strength.
- Finishes: Smooth or textured/rockfaced patterns to match post styles.
- Weight: Typically ranges from 20 kg to 45 kg depending on whether they are 6" or 12" deep.
Uses
- Rot Prevention: Lifts wooden fence panels off damp soil and wet grass to stop decay.
- Ground Retention: Acts as a small retaining wall to hold back soil, flower beds, or mulch on sloping or uneven gardens.
- Pest and Weed Barrier: Stops grass, weeds, and burrowing pests from pushing through or damaging the lower fence line.
- Fence Height & Stability: Adds fixed boundary height and slots securely into concrete fence posts to anchor the whole fencing structure against strong winds.
