GOOD AND PROPER SBR BOND
5-Litre Bottle
Good & Proper SBR Bond is a high-performance, latex-based admixture and bonding agent for use in cement and concrete.
"SBR" stands for "Styrene-Butadiene Rubber", and it improves adhesion, flexibility, water resistance, and the chemical durability of concrete & cement, when added.
SBR Bond is ideal for use in screeds, renders, primers, and tile adhesives.
SBR Bond is suitable for external and internal use, and can even be used in wet conditions.
While many SBR formulas dry to a white finish or opaque film, this is a clear, resin-based bonding agent.
How to use SBR Bond
- As a Bonding Slurry: Mix equal parts (1:1) SBR liquid and water, then stir in standard Portland cement to create a creamy paste.
- As a Primer: Dilute with clean water (typically 1 part SBR to 2–4 parts water) to seal highly porous surfaces.
- As a Slurry Coat for Paving: Paint the bonding slurry directly onto the slab/substrate just before applying mortar to ensure maximum adhesion.
Key Benefits
- Superior Water Resistance: SBR forms reinforcing polymers, making it ideal for wet rooms, damp areas, and outdoor paving.
- Permanently Flexible: Unlike PVA, which can re-emulsify when exposed to moisture, SBR is water-resistant and won't break down.
- Better Durability: Drastically reduces the risk of cracking and shrinkage in floor screeds and renders.
