Chipboard flooring is a strong, load-bearing engineered wood panel designed specifically for use as a structural floor deck in residential and commercial construction. Manufactured from compressed wood particles bonded with resin, it offers consistent strength, dimensional stability, and excellent value.
Available in 18mm and 22mm thicknesses, chipboard flooring is typically supplied with tongue and groove edges to ensure a secure, flush fit and reduced movement once installed.
Classification & Standards
Chipboard flooring is manufactured in accordance with EN 312, commonly supplied as:
- P5 Chipboard – Load-bearing boards for use in humid conditions (The most widely used grade for flooring applications)

Installation & Handling Guidance
- Store flat, dry, and off the ground prior to installation
- Acclimatise boards to site conditions before fixing
- Install with the correct joist spacing for the board thickness
- Use PVA D3 adhesive in tongue and groove joints
- Fix using appropriate flooring screws or nails
- Protect boards from prolonged moisture exposure during construction
